What's blooming in the garden on the 15th of the month.
A second Strobilanthes on the window sill just flowered, but I caught the photo a day too late. The Christmas poinsettia is still impressive, and waiting patiently to be planted outdoors and to continue as a summer annual foliage plant. The hyacinths started indoors in early November are now blooming, about a month later than expected. This light blue one is 'Sky Jacket.' I can't believe the amount of roots they put out!

Great to see your photos from VA. I am in snow-covered Pennsylvania, but the temperature suddenly shot up and I managed to find some flowers outside. Happy GBBD, Carolyn
ReplyDeleteHi Ray, love having hyacinth inside--spring comes a little earlier and the fragrance is outstanding. One of my neighbors has her Pointsettia still putting out red bracts. Pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou must be the only gardener to have a blooming Strobilanthes for February GBBD! I used to buy them in the spring, but haven't for a few years. Maybe again this year?

ReplyDeleteLovely pics. I like the first one, with the sun coming in the window.
